How we got here
May 2022
The vision
A vision was created, and from it came the high-end hybrid — the subjective parody you know today as Lazy Apes. The founders got to work building the bones of the project and hired some of the best people in the web3 community. What they ended up with was the team of every founder's dream: passionate about what they were backing, dedicated and hardworking. Hence, the Dream Team.

Times Square
The Lazy Ape crew took their first initiative to be seen by the world, and there is no busier stage in America than New York City. The apes hit Times Square during NFT NYC and picked up positive community engagement fast.

The hats got rebuilt
Listening in on Twitter Spaces, the team heard members say they did not like how the hats sat on the apes. So the artist went back to work and, within two weeks, delivered brand new hats — completely original and far better than the first releases. On the sneak peeks, the community started building their own trait groups and wearing the previews as profile pictures before a mint was even announced.

Lazy Apes partnered with other web3 projects and platforms to bring micro-communities together under one umbrella. Through those collabs, holders and partner projects share utility and grow together. In web3 we share to grow and build together — be an army of one.
Mint day
Presale, sellout, Vegas
On presale day the community minted roughly 4,000 Lazy Apes including Mutants. The public sale was booming. Before the sellout, Lazy Apes released an official anthem — Proud 2 Death by Nessy — went to NFT Las Vegas and was the talk of the event, shot a music video for the anthem, and sponsored a Las Vegas rooftop pool party.
